RAP (The Resettlement Assistance Program) is a unique program within Citizenship and Immigration Canada supported and monitored by regional and local CIC offices and directly delivered by a number of Service Provider Organizations (SPO). Jangles Productions conducted this Training Needs Assessment for CIC to ensure the required support and resources were provided to each SPO in order to maintain the highest level of client service.

  • To investigate training needs of CIC staff and SPO staff and management
  • To document and report on those training needs
  • To identify related gaps in program delivery
  • To make training recommendations in addressing emerging gaps
  • To research and inventory training offerings available nationally and locally

The project methodology involved focus groups, on-site interviews, and a national survey of CIC staff, SPO staff and SPO management. Information was then compiled and analyzed to identify training priorities and to inform the recommendations contained in the document.
